Location:

This position requires up to 50% travel to work in various indoor and outdoor locations, locally to Chicago, domestically within the US, and with some international travel. When not traveling or prepping for travel at Brella’s HQ, the remainder of work can be done remotely.


Job Summary/Objective:

The Event Producer is a critical role in our production team. They serve as a production team leader for on-site and virtual meetings and events for Brella’s clients. During planning and production, they manage the execution of a smooth show. This role requires the ability to calmly adjust on the fly and proactively work to avoid curveballs. It requires excellent leadership, decision-making, communication, information retention, technical aptitude, and multi-tasking skills.


Pre- and Post-Production Duties:

  • Work with fellow team members to translates the creative vision of the event into production needs.
  • Collaborate with the project manager on logistics and production management, including but not limited to budgets, location scouting, vendor procurement, content production, schedule planning, creation of set displays, platform branding, link creation (for virtual meetings), room floorplans, gear signal routing, equipment selection and pull lists, and more – always maintaining frequent and thorough communication.
  • Coordination of legal and functional documentation as required.
  • Schedule and lead pre-production meetings with crew, vendors and other production collaborators.
  • Collaborate with the project manager to manage budgets and provides financial and production reports of expenditures.
  • Coordinate the production and handoff of final deliverables, including notes, final files, VOD, data reporting, etc.

Production Duties:

  • Oversees execution of event production: responsible for Brella and AV Team oversight, call times, communication with crew, vendor management, and other tasks as needed.
  • Create and distribute the meeting or meeting room show flow.
  • May call the show.
  • May perform one or more technical roles depending on show scope.
  • Is accountable for the show / room / area production execution. Works closely with other members of the crew to direct and achieve production goals.
  • Ensures crew is functioning efficiently and professionally; always looking out for the team’s wellbeing as well as Brella’s profitability and brand image while in the field.
  • Provides technical production support by directing location of cameras, audio, lighting, and other crew positions.
  • Facilitates troubleshooting of technical and logistical issues that arise.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of professional experience in virtual meeting production, live corporate events, A/V production, theater, broadcast, and/or related areas.
  • Intermediate or advance technical skills in multiple areas of event production.
  • Strong understanding of all areas of event production, including audio recording and mixing, lighting, staging, projection, etc. for live stage events and virtual meetings.
  • 2+ years of professional experience supervising event, theater or video crews.
  • 1+ years of professional experience working in a client facing position in a creative industry.
  • Intermediate PowerPoint authoring and editing skills.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • 1+ years of professional experience with streaming platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in video/film production, theater, music/audio, communications, or related field a plus.
  • This work requires a current, valid driver’s license and passport.
  • This work requires some evening and weekend work based on the needs of specific projects.
