we place enormous emphasis on users and usability and we’re re-imagining how commerce and experiences converge in a modern, digital and connected world. Acquisition via digital channels is one of our largest investments and we design and build insight-driven platforms, products and programs that help drive profitable and efficient growth in a customer-centric way.

Our content designers/UX writers work closely with product designers, researchers, product owners, marketers, developers, and other partners to create the voice of American Express across digital properties, including web, mobile and partner-led channels. This role primarily focuses on crafting language, developing content strategies, and co-designing customer acquisition experiences!

We bring American Express’ world-renowned customer service to life through friendly, straightforward UX copy. On occasion, we also support other customer-facing content needs (marketing, social media, compliance, and SEO.) This is an exciting opportunity for someone who can combine business, and customer needs to drive the digital experience forward!

How will you make an impact in this role?

Creating and curating (compelling, clear, concise, and sometimes persuasive) content for Amex digital acquisition experiences (mobile and web).

Crafting solutions that consider user needs, business opportunities, dev parameters, and research results (qualitative and quantitative).

Prioritizing information in the most contextual, relevant, and meaningful order (information architecture).

Auditing existing live content with the dual aim of making immediate, impactful fixes and identifying longer-term areas for improvement.

Partnering with design, marketing, legal/compliance, and product to meet business and regulatory needs, and proofreading copy from internal teams and external agencies.

Defending your work (and your decisions) persuasively to collaborators and partners.

Contributing to the creation of team documentation – including content design guidelines, onboarding materials, and case studies.

Injecting empathy into new and existing content – ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years UX writing (OR 1 years of UX writing combined with 1 years working on other forms of content (copy editing, copywriting, journalism, etc.).

Exceptional attention-to-detail with superior copy-editing skills.

Ability to convert research findings and insights into creative solutions.

Exudes positivity, loves collaboration, has a strong work ethic, and can work on a wide range of projects simultaneously.

Must submit a portfolio of work in order to be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of design processes and how UX content strategy and product design benefit each other.

The ability to influence without authority over a broad group of internal and external partners at a local and global level.

Knowledge of both US and international audiences and writing styles.

Experience working globally with geographically dispersed teams and varied cultures.

Highly organized and enjoys documenting processes.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $60,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually bonus benefits
