Marketing Specialist – Virginia Residency Required

Virginia residency required. Headquarters located in Toano, VA.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

La Tienda is seeking a creative and organized Marketing Specialist (MS) to join our team. This role requires a technically skilled professional with experience in marketing platforms, a strong understanding of current trends and the ability to adapt across various disciplines. The ideal candidate will excel at creating engaging content, executing marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness and customer engagement and contributing to revenue growth. A keen eye for design, basic photo and video editing skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and superior organizational abilities are essential for success in this role. A passion for great food and an enthusiasm to explore Spain’s culture are a strong plus.

This position reports to the Email and Web Marketing Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

Website Production

  • Create, update and maintain website pages and content using a proprietary content management system (CMS) to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Manage promotions and sales-related website content, including updating landing pages, homepage banners, promotional text, promo codes and sale price lists.
  • Create and maintain product listings and content pages to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Perform basic photo and video editing for website images, product visuals and other content using Adobe Creative Suite software (advanced skills not required).
  • Update product samplers and gift box contents to maintain stock availability and accurate product representation.

Organic Social Media

  • Manage and oversee organic social media channels, ensuring consistent content posting and audience engagement.
  • Develop and maintain the social media content calendar to align with marketing strategies and promotional campaigns.
  • Interact with followers by responding to comments, messages and inquiries to foster community engagement.
  • Grow social media following through collaborations, partnerships and targeted initiatives.
  • Create organic content as needed (photos and video) using a smartphone or other basic equipment.

Email and SMS Production

  • Maintain and update the email and SMS marketing calendar, ensuring timely content planning and execution.
  • Execute and optimize email and SMS marketing campaigns to enhance customer engagement and drive conversions.
  • Assist in setting up and managing email and SMS audience segments, automated workflows and customer journeys for targeted messaging.

Content Proofing and Testing

  • Conduct functionality testing as needed for website development to ensure an optimal user experience and seamless performance.
  • Proofread and verify content for accuracy across website pages, print catalogs and other marketing materials to maintain brand consistency and credibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education & Experience: BA/BS degree in marketing, business or a related field, with 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
  2. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends and develop solutions to drive business growth and development.
  3. Collaboration & Teamwork: Proven track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams, with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with stakeholders at all levels.
  4. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically with Word, Excel (including V-lookups, formulas and Pivot Tables) PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for basic photo editing, graphic design and content creation.
  5. Social Media Expertise: Experience in managing and maintaining social media platforms, including content creation, posting, community engagement and account optimization.
  6. Time Management & Organization: Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
  7. Confidentiality: Strong discretion in handling and maintaining sensitive and confidential information.
  8. Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment.
  9. Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, coupled with active listening and strong quantitative analysis abilities.
  10. Adaptability & Flexibility: Comfortable with shifting priorities and schedules in a dynamic work environment, demonstrating resilience and the ability to adapt quickly.
  11. Initiative & Judgment: Self-starter with the initiative to take on new challenges, leveraging sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills.
  12. Interpersonal & Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset; able to collaborate effectively within teams and professionally engage with employees, consultants and vendors.
  13. Ability to Work Under Pressure: Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and stay motivated, creative and adaptable under pressure.

BENEFITS:

Competitive salary (Base salary: $55,000.00 – $60,0000.00 annually) commensurate with experience; exempt.
