Position Overview

The San Francisco Glens are seeking individuals experienced in photography to join our Communications team for the 2025 USL season, the inaugural year at our brand-new, soccer-specific facility on Treasure Island. Photography Interns with the San Francisco Glens will have the opportunity to learn about the club's brand and vision, gaining valuable insight into what it takes to be a creative professional in a sports environment. The selected candidates will support the Director of Communications in managing the needs of both our USL W League and USL League Two teams. This is a seasonal position, with a start date as early as May and an end date as late as August 2025.

Responsibilities
  • Support Matchday Media Operations: Assist in real-time content creation during matches, including capturing key moments, celebrations, and fan engagement.
  • Proficiency with Camera Equipment: Knowledge of professional camera settings and equipment handling (DSLR, mirrorless, or video cameras).
  • Edit Photos and Videos: Edit and enhance images to ensure they align with the club's brand, style, and messaging for use in marketing materials, social media, and the website.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with the Communications and Marketing teams to ensure all visual content aligns with club messaging and objectives.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Assist with other creative, media, or event-related tasks as needed to support the Communications team.


Qualifications

Required:
  • Must Be Available for Home Matches: Willingness and availability to work a majority of home matches and events (official schedule will be provided once finalized).
  • Must Provide Portfolio: A portfolio showcasing photography work, preferably with sports-related content.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for composition and framing with an emphasis on high-quality production.


Preferred:
  • Ability to Provide Own Equipment: Interns should ideally have access to their own camera gear, though the club can provide limited equipment if necessary.
  • Basic Knowledge of Soccer: Familiarity with soccer or an interest in learning about the sport to better capture relevant moments during matches.


Role Stipulations
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, on matchdays.
  • Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with Front Office staff, players, coaches, and fans.
  • Capability to secure reliable transportation at your own expense.

About The San Francisco Glens

The San Francisco Glens are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and the largest, most diverse soccer club in The City. Originally founded in 1961 by the Irish-American community as an amateur adult team, the Glens now compete with both men's and women's teams in USL League Two and the USL W League, in addition to running a robust youth academy with nearly 90 total teams. As part of the United Soccer League, the Glens compete within the nation's largest and fastest-growing soccer organization in the country, spanning both pre-professional and professional levels.
