Job Description
Metrics LLC is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Writer as we compete for a contract in support of a transformative initiative for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Acquisition and Logistics (OAL). This remote role will play a vital role in modernization and transformation efforts by developing clear, concise, and high-quality documentation to support change management, process improvement, and strategic communications within OAL.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation, reports, manuals, and presentations to support OAL modernization initiatives.
- Support change management and communications strategy by preparing stakeholder engagement materials, policy updates, and training guides.
- Translate complex acquisition and logistics processes into easy-to-understand documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and organize technical content related to procurement, data analytics, and enterprise business architecture.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflow guides, and process documentation to enhance VA’s acquisition and logistics operations.
- Ensure all documentation complies with VA policies, federal regulations, and industry best practices for technical writing.
- Assist in the creation of executive-level briefings, reports, and white papers to support leadership decision-making and strategic planning.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, preferably supporting federal agencies or acquisition programs.
- Experience developing policy documents, process guides, and stakeholder communications related to change management and modernization efforts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and documentation tools such as Visio or Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear and accessible documents for diverse audiences.
- Strong knowledge of federal procurement, logistics, and acquisition terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or other federal acquisition programs.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Public Administration, or Business.
- Familiarity with enterprise business architecture, performance management, and change management frameworks.
- Experience with content management systems, document version control, and compliance tracking tools.
