Marquee Arts is a Michigan-based nonprofit organization committed to keeping community inspiration alive through the preservation and programming of historic theaters. Curators of film, theater, and live entertainment, we proudly oversee the operations, upkeep and artistic direction of the State and Michigan theaters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Marquee Arts is the founding entity for Michigans Cinetopia Film Festival and curator of the always-on series theater productions, Not Just For Kids. While both theaters serve as community hubs, the Michigans main auditorium hosts the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, the University of Michigans University Musical Society, the Ann Arbor Concert Band, the Ark, Live Nation Worldwide and many more. Rooted in Michigans artistic history, the organization is committed to producing state of the art creative programming, unparalleled in diversity, quality, and scope.
Internship Opportunities
- Cinetopia Film Festival Relations Intern: Assist the Cinema Programming Director with daily tasks related to the planning and marketing of the Cinetopia Film Festival, while learning the ins-and-outs of programming historic, non-profit theaters with a mission focused on art in the community. Duties will include researching prospective sponsors, participating in marketing strategy meetings, assisting with sponsors benefit deliverables, event set-up, etc.
- Cinetopia Film Festival VIP Relations Intern: Assist the Director of Development with daily tasks related to the planning and marketing of the Cinetopia Film Festival, while learning the ins-and-outs of programming historic, non-profit theaters with a mission focused on art in the community. Duties will include coordinating and assisting with VIP events; logistics and set-up, participatingin marketing strategy meetings, creating marketing collateral, etc.
- Cinetopia Film Festival Programming Intern: Assist the Cinema Programming Director with daily tasks related to the planning and marketing of the Cinetopia Film Festival, while learning the ins-and-outs of programming historic, non-profit theaters with a mission focused on art in the community. Duties will include coordinating print traffic, viewing screeners from filmmakers/distributors, participating in marketing strategy meetings, etc.
- Cinetopia Film Festival Marketing Intern: Assist the Associate Director of Marketing with daily tasks related to the planning and marketing of the Cinetopia Film Festival, while learning the ins-and-outs of programming historic, non-profit theaters with a mission focused on art in the community. Duties will include coordinating marketing assets, creating marketing collateral, participating in marketing strategy meetings, etc.
Internship Hours & Schedule
- 20-hours per week
- In-person with flexible scheduling, with evening and weekend hours required during the run of the festival.

Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation at $10.00 per hour
- Free admission to films with available seats
- Free popcorn and soda, along with a concessions discount
