Responsibilities: Reporting to the Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager, and working closely with the Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer, this position will collaborate closely with practice group chairs, firm attorneys, and other members of the Marketing & Business Development (MBD) team to support all marketing & business development activities for the firm. Provide day-to-day marketing & business development support to partners throughout the firm. Manage the pitch and RFP processes, including the production of pitches, RFP responses, presentations, and follow-up with key attorneys. Develop and execute marketing and client development strategies for individual attorneys and practice groups. Communicate regularly with attorneys, actively participate in practice group meetings to better understand their needs and the legal services they provide, follow up on opportunities, and promote internal knowledge sharing within the practice(s) and the broader MBD team. Maintain and track business development opportunities, provide support to individual attorneys and practice groups, and monitor progress. Conduct research, identify cross-selling opportunities, and capitalize on prospective business through current or potential clients. Draft practice and individual group directory and award submissions for rankings in publications. Coordinate client events, including jointly-hosted initiatives, CLE seminars, networking events, etc. Work with MBD team members to curate content for distribution, including marketing materials, web content, attorney bios, practice descriptions, and firm achievements. Work with the firm’s MBD team leadership and external PR agency to develop press strategies and increase visibility. Role model the use of the CRM tool for individual attorney and practice group business development. Collaborate on various firm-wide projects and initiatives with MBD leadership. Contribute to department-wide initiatives to improve overall marketing & business development functions Other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in a marketing or business development role within a law firm. Demonstrated background in effectively identifying opportunities for business development. Excellent project management, organizational, and analytical thinking skills. Ability to define and prioritize goals and follow through to achieve results. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and presentation skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. Proficient in the use of a CRM tool. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate and solve problems. Customer service-oriented with a sense of urgency. Self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail and demonstrated effective project management skills. Strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated use of appropriate marketing tactics. Ability to work independently while also being able to take direction. Ability to juggle multiple priorities within tight time constraints.
Compensation & Benefits: $150,000-$170,000 (negotiable)
