The Data Experiences design system team builds and maintains a sub-system and standards for data-centric tools used in products and services at Walmart, enhancing the lives of millions of Americans. As a Senior UX Designer for design systems, you'll drive inclusive, scalable, and useful solutions for a broad set of teams, transforming complex information and tasks into easy-to-use patterns for millions of customers and associates. You will create scalable solutions that balance business, technology, and brand considerations, delivering pixel-perfect detailed designs. Building relationships with product, engineering, and design partners to evangelize the power of design systems is key. You’ll sweep us off our feet if you have: A strong understanding of design systems, including design patterns, components, and guidelines. A collaborative mindset to influence cross-functional teams, ensuring consistent design across all touchpoints. Strategic and tactical points of view to maintain and build design guidelines, such as style guides and pattern libraries. A vested interest in the governance of our design system, providing feedback on designs submitted by other teams. A strategic mindset and a systems thinking approach to simplify the complex. Ability to produce great work in short timeframes, multi-task across different projects, and adapt to changing priorities. Experience facilitating Design Thinking in cross-functional teams. Comfort with ambiguity and constraints, helping to discover and define the problem space. A growth mindset and keen sense of curiosity, always looking to improve. Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners. Demonstrating the ability to receive feedback and improve over time. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in HCI, Information Architecture, Digital Design, Graphic Design, or similar with 2+ years of experience in UX design. A fantastic portfolio of thoughtful design solutions. Experience creating and/or maintaining a design system. Domain experience in data, analytics, or AI tools with a keen eye towards industry trends. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00, with additional compensation including performance bonuses and stock options. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 3 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Alternatively, 5 years' experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area. Preferred Qualifications: Design certification (e.g., IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate). Driving product development in a user experience area. Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area. Related industry experience (e.g., retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare).
