Job Summary:

The Marketing & Communications Program Manager, hereinafter referred to as the Program Manager, will provide daily management and coordination of, as well as overall strategic planning for, the Department of Anesthesiology's marketing and communications needs.

This position will oversee and maintain departmental branding and logos, marketing materials and processes, and various communication avenues including the ownership of the Department's internal communications, including its quarterly newsletter, Intranet, Website, social media, and marketing videos.

This Program Manager will be the primary point of contact for all Department marketing and communications and will manage the Department's marketing and communications strategies, publications, and systems, including the utilization of Marketing Cloud. The Program Manager is expected to communicate with the Department Chair, Director of Finance and Administration, and other Department leadership on significant developments within the department. This position requires a combination of program management and communications skills. Strong writing and speaking skills, coupled with the ability to manage, allocate and deliver projects in a timely manner to support Department of Anesthesiology programs, events, and fundraising efforts are crucial to the position.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management (60%)

The Program Manager oversees all aspects of overall marketing, communications, and brand strategy for the Department of Anesthesiology.

This includes the following, but is not limited to :

Overseeing all marketing and communication efforts including developing and implementing internal communications strategies to keep employees in all mission areas informed and engaged and to help foster collaboration, as well as create and execute external communications strategies to reach preceptors, alumni, medical students, the broader Anschutz campus and the University, as well as the local community.

Developing and nurturing collaborations with other departments/schools to facilitate implementation of communications efforts and serving as the POC for the department with the School of Medicine, AMC Communications departments, and for media and public relations inquiries.

Managing the Department's online presence, to include the public-facing Department website

Managing additional ad-hoc campaigns for events, special programs, etc., and collaborating with key staff on event, recruitment, and campaign planning and delivery.

Monitoring, reporting on, and communicating progress of strategic plans, project plans, deliverables, and achievements

Communications & Systems/Database Management (40%)

The Program Manager will create an overall marketing, communications, and brand strategy for the Department and will manage all databases applicable to marketing and communications. This is inclusive of but not limited to :

Researching, gathering, creating, and managing content for Department newsletters, web content, fliers, press releases, annual reports, etc.

Managing the Department's social media presence, to include creation and oversight of content and strategy

Serving as the subject matter expert for Marketing Cloud and Salesforce for the utilization of contact and communications lists and sending department-wide communications such as the Department Newsletter

Researching and implementing marketing and communications systems, approved for use by the University, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing and communications.

Management of any and all newly acquired systems and/or databases; responsible for training others how to utilize these systems, if/when necessary

Managing the Department's internal and external listservs and coordinating with appropriate constituents to ensure the lists are accurate and updated in a timely manner to ensure effective marking and communications to these parties

Overseeing the Department intranet to promote internal communications and announcements and approve and implement requested changes

Work Location:

Onsite to Hybrid - this role is expected to work onsite initially for at least four months to build and establish relationships and is located in

Aurora, Colorado . After four months, the role will be eligible for a flexible hybrid work schedule at the supervisor's discretion based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, business administration, or a directly related field from an accredited institution

The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible experience, including at least

four (4) years

of direct responsibility working in communications, public relations, social media, and/or marketing with experience in project management.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in higher education, academic medicine, and/or corporate healthcare communications

Development (fundraising) experience desired

Excellent knowledge of Marketing Cloud or other marketing systems/databases

Experience with the creation and development of print, broadcast, and/or digital media

Experience with marketing campaign planning and results reporting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated storytelling abilities across multiple mediums including, but not limited to, print, social media, website, digital media, and video.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and demands

Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member to relate effectively with students, faculty, residents and various staff members.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.

Strong decision making skills - ability to demonstrate the ability to resolve complex problems via examination of established protocols; ability to initiate solutions to operational problems and implement operational changes.

Web content management and strategy and demonstrated experience with web content platforms

Expertise in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Word) as well as Marketing Cloud, Canva, website content management platforms, CRMs, and Social Media skills.

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and documents and maintain strict confidentiality in all applicable matters; using professionalism and discretion in conversations.

Ability to communicate effectively in brief, focused and well-organized oral and written presentations.

Ability to work and think independently, self-motivated, and detail oriented.

Ability to understand and apply institutional requirements at the department level.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range ( or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $65,105 - $82,814.

The above salary range ( or hiring range ) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
