The Role:
We are looking for a contracted Current Creative Executive for CoComelon Lane who is passionate about telling engaging and enriching stories for children across multiple platforms. This role works closely with our network of creators all over the world.
The successful candidate will have overseen creative projects from inception through production and delivery for premium streaming platforms. He/she will have experience working across content formats in both short-form and long-form, for narrative and music-based shows. He/she is a creative thinker who can juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities, and has managed creative and production teams. This is a demanding and fast-paced role with growth potential that requires curiosity and significant initiative.
Los Angeles, CA | $110,000 - $125,000 | Contract, office- based role
Responsibilities:
Oversee shows from a creative perspective all the way from development to production through to final delivery, for YouTube and premium platforms
Run and maintain excellent relationships between show runner/head writer and internal MB team
Run and maintain excellent relationships between the creative department at streaming platform and Moonbug creative.
Give Insightful and succinct notes at every relevant pass in the process to elevate the creative around child development, story, character, world building, and to ensure the project is on brand but NOT at the expense of the schedule and budget
Identify and assign creative talent to develop and produce content
Review and provide notes on scripts, animatics, cuts, voice records and all other steps in the creative process
Work closely with Moonbug departments (Production, Commercial, Distribution, Channel Operations) to ensure creative development is aligned with company goals and objectives
Maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional projects as necessary or assigned
7-10 years experience in kid’s and family space is required
Previous experience as a current creative executive on a 3D animated premium original show is required
Degree in Communications, Creative Writing or Film Studies is preferred but not required
Passionate and knowledgeable about high-quality children’s entertainment
Successfully overseen creative development and production of children’s shows for both digital and traditional platforms
Broad network of writers, artists and agency contacts in the children’s space
Experience working across live action and animation, narrative and music-based shows
Solid grasp of film-making language and technique
Experience confidently commenting on animatics, music and effects
Experience leading a team on creative storytelling and development
Strong understanding of character and story in brand building
Ability to interpret data and insights and leverage them in the creative process
Good judgement and strong critical thinking skills
Proven communication skills; articulate and professional both in written and verbal form
Ability to work proactively and independently under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
High level of organisation and ability to time-manage across multiple deadlines
