Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE: The Senior Graphic Designer role provides graphic design collateral to support marketing, communications, branded apparel, event publicity, admissions materials, and other projects as needed. This position also provides occasional design support for the Academy’s digital channels, newsletter, and miscellaneous school-sponsored campaigns.
DIRECT REPORT: Director of Communications
POSITION OUTCOMES/EXPECTATIONS:
- Responsible for all graphic design requests by collaborating with the Communications team and delivering the final product to the client
- Maintains brand & style guide consistency across the Academy in partnership with the Director of Communications
- Partner with the marketing & digital content team on graphic needs for projects to serve the Academy in the community and beyond
- Interacts with and manages (when necessary) vendors for outsourced projects
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree - preferably in graphic design or equivalent work experience
Experience
- Required four years in a graphic design capacity
Skills and Abilities
- Possess strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Oversee all design projects, from conception to delivery
- Refine images, fonts, and layouts for all school design materials
- Apply typography techniques
- Strong computer skills that include current design programs, i.e. Adobe Creative Suite (Primarily Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat Professional). Self-motivated with the ability to complete day-to-day tasks with flexibility and consistency throughout the editing process.
- Must have strong artistic, graphic design, and website design skills and be familiar with preparing jobs for printing and screen printing apparel.
- Must be able to multitask, be flexible, and balance multiple deadlines with ease
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Requirements
