This position is an extension of the College's mission and provides a holistic approach to student development and support for populations that are underrepresented in medicine (racial/ethnic populations underrepresented in medicine relative to their numbers in the general population and first-generation college graduates) and in turn, helps to advance health equity and increase diversity in the physician workforce. The selected candidate will work to develop and administer programs that support the mission of the College and it's Urban Health Program (UHP), which was established in 1978 when the Illinois State Legislature called for its formation in response to community outcries that significant health care disparities plagued the state's poor, urban, and mostly minority communities.
