The Blue Studio is IBM’s internal creative team, responsible for the strategic evolution and expression of the IBM brand across every experience and encounter, internally and externally. We sit within IBM's Marketing function representing and supporting all IBM businesses, both horizontally and vertically. Our work crosses nearly every category of output: research and strategy, communications and content development, symbology and systems, digital and physical experiences, and tools and training. Your role and responsibilities

In the Blue Studio, we aim to be at the cutting edge of creativity, transforming complex ideas into narratives that resonate and inspire. Here, you’ll become part of a collaborative team, partnering with world-class strategists, designers, producers and creative directors to tell compelling stories about the technologies changing our world—and the people who put them to work.   1. Creative Vision & Storytelling: Collaborate with a cross-functional team to create compelling narratives that transform complex technologies into relatable content, ensuring the IBM brand voice is consistently expressed across all deliverables.
  2. Content Development: Distill complex ideas into sharp, impactful messaging, including headlines, scripts and voiceover content, to effectively communicate IBM’s vision and technologies.
  3. Brand Stewardship: Act as the guardian of the IBM brand, ensuring all content aligns with the brand’s identity, vision and tone while maintaining consistency across digital and physical experiences.
  4. Collaboration & Feedback: Work closely with strategists, designers and stakeholders to refine and improve content through collaboration, iterative feedback and applying industry-leading writing standards.
  5. Project Guidance: Oversee multiple projects from concept to completion, managing timelines and resources to meet objectives and ensure successful delivery of creative outputs.
  6. Mentorship & Industry Awareness: Guide junior team members in their creative development, while staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to push creative boundaries.

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • 7+ years marketing or advertising writing
  • Superior English language writing skills (diction, syntax and grammar)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Portfolio of work showing success in primary responsibilities for the role
  • History pitching ideas and presenting work to creative directors, partners and stakeholders
  • Passion for working collaboratively as part of a larger team

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Advertising or marketing agency experience
  • History of work with international clients
  • Collaboration with diverse, distributed teams
  • Degree in English, creative writing, advertising, journalism or related area of study

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
