Position Purpose:

Prepare journal articles, how-to guides, instruction manuals, and other supporting documents to communicate technical information. Also develop, gather, and disseminate technical information through W&C and Hendrickson communications channels.

Essential Functions:

  1. Design, develop, and edit new and existing content as needed to complete full range of product materials required for all publishing initiatives including technical publications, aftermarket sales/promotional material, internal and external web publishing.
  2. Create and update W&C technical literature to provide complete instructions for product assembly, service and maintenance.
  3. Meet with production and engineering personnel, read journals, reports, and other materials to become familiar with product technologies, production methods, and installation of suspension assemblies.
  4. Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, parts lists, specifications, mock-ups, work instructions, and product samples to integrate and delineate technology, operating procedure, production and assembly sequence and detail.
  5. Use existing or create new photographs, drawings, diagrams, charts or solid model renderings to illustrate material.
  6. Track and report progress of literature development.
  7. Pursue development and distribution of technical product information by using the latest computer technology and alternative media resources.
  8. Develop product ordering guides as well as materials for product training of customer service and field personnel.
  9. Assist with writing scripts for product training videos.

Education and Training:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, communications or related field.
  2. Adobe Create Suite experience required (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
  3. Ability to read and write French and Spanish is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. At least 1-year experience as a technical writer and/or service writer.
  2. Desktop publishing skills including Adobe Creative Suite, literacy with AutoCAD, word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs.
  3. Knowledge of commercial printing technology – the ability to work directly with outside commercial printers and supervise the translation from digital pre-press and plates for printing presses.
  4. Must be willing and able to travel 5-10% via car, plane, etc.

  1. Physical Requirements (standing, lifting, repetitive tasks).
  2. Occasional travel, 5-10% via car, plane, etc.

Environmental Conditions:

  1. Constant exposure to office designated area.
  2. Exposure to extreme heat and extreme cold while in the plant.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
