Casuarina, WA - Marketer and Membership Clerk Part Time

WA - Casuarina

• Part Time Position Minimum 24 hours per week
• Rotating roster which will include weekend work and starts from 5am or finishing as late as 11pm.

POSITION SUMMARY

Meets with current and prospective members to increase Costco Membership sign-ups and sales and develops Gold Star companies. Continually strives to improve Costco’s corporate image as a concerned and active member of the community. Introduces Costco to the community in new market areas and as an active participant in warehouse pre-openings. Tracks sales, sign-ups, and incentive programs. Provides prompt and courteous member service. Follows proper safety and security procedures and standards.

Job Duties/Essential Functions

• Canvas businesses located in the warehouse sales area in person and by phone to promote membership and foster sales
• Conduct research to identify best prospects
• Meet with business owners and assess business needs to determine Costco merchandise that offers benefits to the member
• Assist businesses with merchandising ideas and special orders
• Contact business members about special promotions, new items, and road shows to promote memberships
• Meet with large businesses to discuss employee membership campaigns
• Schedule and conduct on-site membership events
• Collect electronic funds and keys applications
• Complete daily activity log and track sales increases, sign ups, appointments, and calls
• Submit clear mileage records and other expense receipts for reimbursements
• Promote good community relations by attending and participating in local community events, trade shows, Chamber of Commerce meetings, and local charity events
• Assist Membership/Marketing Manager with formulating and carrying out marketing plans
• Create and track membership incentive programs
• Assist members at the membership desk as necessary
• Resolve member issues using problem solving skills, tact, and discretion
• Maintain Business Promotion Board and update display
• Follow proper Membership and general safety and security procedures and standards
• Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
• Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers
• Answer phones and assist callers.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery

• Personal vehicle, computer, printer, phone, card printer, copier, credit/debit terminal, cash register.

Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess):

• Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
• Licenses/Certifications: Current, valid Driver’s Licence
• Experience/Skills: Costco Membership, Customer service, sales or comparable experience and basic math skills.

Other specific requirements:

• Experience in Marketing
• Experience in customer service
