Web Developer 2025 Summer Internship

Founded in 2010, Davis Unlimited Information Technologies, Inc. (DUIT) is a woman-owned small business (WOSB), minority-owned small business information technology consulting company headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland that provides Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, PKI, and a host of other IT related services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, is seeking the best and brightest part-time college interns to join our winning team.

We have two long term projects for a minimum of 34 or more hours a week for someone to work with our Recruitment or IT teams.

*Positions are scheduled to begin June 23, 2025 and end August 1, 2025. We are asking for a full 5 week commitment of all interns to be present for all 5 weeks of the internship. Ideal candidates will schedule any and all leave for either before of after the internship dates due to its length. Intern candidates who can commit to the entire internship dates will be prioritized.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills: For front-end development, experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript at a basic to intermediate level. Experience with front-end libraries or frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js is optional for some internships. For back-end development, familiarity with languages like Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, or Java is optional but beneficial. A basic understanding of databases, whether SQL or NoSQL, is also helpful.

Version Control: An understanding of Git and GitHub for version control is important.

Familiarity with Tools: Experience or willingness to learn web development tools such as code editors like VS Code or Sublime Text, build tools like Webpack or Gulp, and browser developer tools. Knowledge of responsive design principles and frameworks like Bootstrap is also valuable.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and debugging skills, with the ability to methodically work through issues and find solutions.

Portfolio or Projects: A personal portfolio website or GitHub repository showcasing web development projects, including examples of websites or web applications built during coursework or personal projects.

Soft Skills: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. An eagerness to learn and improve skills, as well as time management skills to handle deadlines.

Student must be actively enrolled in University of Maryland Baltimore County, nearby accredited institution, or resides less than 20 miles from the area

Great academic standing with the attending university (provide copy of unofficial transcripts showing current GPA of 3.0 or better)
