Peninsula Plastics Company Inc is hiring: Designer in Pontiac

Description:

Our company specializes in manufacturing re-usable plastic packaging and is a leader in the thermoforming industry. Designers are responsible for using software to build custom designs that meet customer requirements and specifications.

Reports to: VP-Engineering/Engineering Manager and Lead Designer
Direct Reports: N/A

Responsibilities:

• Attends regular development meetings
• Addresses limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
• Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs
• Makes design revisions as requested
• Assesses CAD designs for the ability to form correctly and not fail under load
• Work with members of the tooling, production, sales, and other departments as necessary
• Maintain proper documentation during the design process
• Understanding thermoforming characteristics such as shrink
• Communicating with appropriate departments when issues arise
• Ensures quality standards are upheld according to the Quality Management System
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures as required

Qualifications:

• 2+ year degree in related field
• Bachelors degree preferred
• 2+ years experience utilizing CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
• Knowledge of production tools and equipment (Thermoforming process and equipment preferred)
• Ability to problem solve in a time-sensitive environment
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
• Strong Organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools
• Comfortable with sitting for long periods of time

Benefits:

• Starting Pay: $60,000 – 80,000.00 (based on experience)
