Senior Structural Designer
Position Overview:
This role focuses on developing practical, cost-effective, and fully functional structural designs and drawings for various projects. Responsibilities include foundation, concrete, and structural steel design, detailing, and fabrication. The Senior Structural Designer ensures designs are well-coordinated across disciplines and aligned with project specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops complex structural design drawings with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
Ensures compliance with industry codes, permits, and software applications.
Prepares design drawings based on project specifications, standards, and procedures.
Assists in verifying structural calculations to support engineers and overall project design.
Reviews vendor documents for accuracy and compliance, including cross-discipline reviews.
Supports adherence to project schedules, cost controls, and company procedures.
Applies sound judgment in modifying and implementing design practices.
Collaborates with other disciplines to ensure design integration.
Proficient in structural design software and cost estimating methods, including material take-offs.
Identifies potential project changes and understands change control processes.
Provides technical guidance to junior designers and drafters.
May act as a design consultant to other teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10 + years of experience.
