The Opportunity
We’re seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Marketing Manager to drive our digital presence, craft engaging content, manage social media platforms, and build strong relationships with influencers. This role will collaborate closely with the current social media team, marketing team and CEO to enhance our omnichannel presence, build brand awareness, and foster deeper connections with our community. This full-time, on-site position is based in our Yonkers office and is essential in fostering community engagement and increasing brand awareness in the textured hair care space.
Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Management
- Conceptualize and execute fresh, trendy content ideas for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Lemon8 and Pinterest.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive content strategy aligned with Bask & Lather Co.’s mission and marketing objectives.
- Manage and maintain a cross-channel content calendar featuring both original and curated content tailored to each platform.
- Create high-quality multimedia content, including graphics, reels, and video content.
- Write captivating social media captions that resonate with our audience.
- Actively engage with our online community by responding to comments, messages, and mentions.
- Monitor social platforms to stay updated on current trends, sounds, and concepts.
- Track and analyze social metrics to refine strategy and improve performance.
- Occasionally attend brand events, capturing content as needed.
- Organize content folders and maintain efficient filing systems.
- Assist in coordinating photoshoots and other marketing initiatives.
- Plan and execute social media giveaways from start to finish.
Campaigns & Rollouts
- Lead the planning and execution of social media campaigns, product launches, and promotional rollouts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution, including content creation, scheduling, and post-launch analysis.
- Monitor campaign performance, adjust strategies in real-time, and report on key outcomes
Community Engagement & Live Content
- Build and maintain relationships with followers by initiating conversations, addressing concerns, and fostering a positive online environment.
- Actively participate in live streaming and engage with audiences in real-time.
- Develop strategies to promote live events, such as livestreams, webinars, and workshops, ensuring pre-event buzz, real-time engagement, and post-event recaps.
- Organize and participate in community-building events to boost brand awareness.
Influencer & Content Creator Partnerships
- Research and manage influencer partnerships, including sourcing, executing, and analyzing campaigns.
- Maintain a master influencer list while managing and nurturing ongoing relationships for long-term partnerships.
- Coordinate influencer content creation and campaign execution.
- Build and coordinate the delivery of influencer mailers and one-off package sends.
- Outsource content from creators for requests that can't be met in-house.
Amplification & Brand Growth
- Collaborate with advertising and PR leads to develop strategies for social advertising, ambassador programs, and other brand growth initiatives.
- Ensure brand consistency across all social media platforms by aligning with marketing, sales, and customer service teams.
Measurement & Reporting
- Utilize analytics tools to monitor social media performance, delivering weekly and monthly KPI reports.
- Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and refine Bask & Lather Co.’s social media strategy.
- Provide actionable insights to improve engagement and brand visibility.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in social media management (internships not included).
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field is preferred.
Skills & Expertise
- Proven ability to create and execute effective social media strategies, with the confidence to communicate recommendations to executives.
- Strong understanding of various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest.
- Experience in video editing (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Photoshop), and content creation.
- Ability to give direction during content shoots, working effectively with teams and models.
- Strong analytical mindset with expertise in measurement tools and KPI tracking.
- Experience building relationships with influencers and understanding influencer marketing strategies.
- Familiar with social media analytics tools and using data to inform strategies.

Work Environment

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
