Job Description
Position Summary:
The Audio-Visual Design Technician will be responsible for applying technical skills in designing audio-visual systems on multiple projects. This includes working with other design disciplines internal and external to PEC to develop engineering solutions for PEC’s Clients. The Audio-Visual Design Technician will ensure the project plan deliverables are prepared timely and cost effectively in accordance with PEC’s standards. This position utilizes BIM/CAD software.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with engineering design and coordinate with other design staff for construction document and specification production
- Complete design tasks for associated design projects. Tasks include but are not limited to design, drafting, calculations and cost estimating
- Assist with design computations
- Use experience, education, and judgement to make informed decisions. Retain knowledge and build on previous experiences to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity
- Organize multiple projects and tasks and complete them in a timely manner, on schedule, and per PEC Standards
- Organize project information and drawing files according to corporate standard practices and workflows
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with the Design Team to complete design tasks on numerous projects
- Review project deliverables for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards
- Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion

- Experience with using industry accepted software as described below:
- AutoDesk Revit
- AutoDesk AutoCAD
- Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Bluebeam Revu
- AFMG EASE preferred
- AFMG EASERA preferred
- Experience with codes and regulations, interpreting plans, and design of discipline specific project components:
- Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and Closed-Circuit Television System Design (Security) preferred
- Audio-Visual System Design preferred
- Public Address and Paging System Design preferred
- Telecommunications Cabling Design including Horizontal and Backbone preferred
- Outside Plant (OSP) Cabling Design preferred
- Wi-Fi Network Design preferred
- Fire Alarm System Design preferred
- Nurse Call System Design preferred
- Distributed Antenna systems Design for Cellular and Responder Radios preferred
- Conduit and Pathway for Technology System Design
Education and Experience:
- Obtain or currently working towards a certificate or degree providing training in CAD software or relevant experience
License and Certification:
- Certificate in CAD software is preferred

At times, bending, reaching, standing, and walking may be required.
