Job Purpose
This position is to teach in a variety of undergraduate and graduate communication courses including interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, health communication, rhetoric, and/or organizational communication, and be committed to the continued improvement of teaching using research-based practices. Willingness to teach online is required. Experience coaching debate and forensics is preferred. Ability to teach classes in argumentation and debate and/or persuasion preferred. Practice/training in teaching online and/or hybrid classes preferred. Ability to teach and/or conduct research in Artificial Intelligence preferred. Teaching load is 4/4 including one (3-hour) course reduction for both the Fall and Spring semesters for serving as Debate and Forensics Coach.

Ph.D. in communication; experience in debate and/or forensics. Ability to teach in a variety of undergraduate and graduate communication courses including interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, health communication, rhetoric, and/or organizational communication, and be committed to the continued improvement of teaching using research-based practices. Willingness to teach online is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching debate and forensics is preferred. Ability to teach classes in argumentation and debate and/or persuasion preferred. Practice/training in teaching online and/or hybrid classes preferred. Ability to teach and/or conduct research in Artificial Intelligence preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position to begin August 1, 2025. Tennessee Tech offers a competitive benefits package, including the accumulation of one (1) sick leave day per month and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
