About Us: Raw Earth Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and sustainability. We are launching Raw Earth Kids, a fun and engaging YouTube series designed to teach kids about sustainability, plant identification, and eco-friendly habits through storytelling, music, and adventure. We’re looking for a talented and passionate Composer & Sound Designer to help bring our series to life with original music and engaging soundscapes that captivate young audiences. This is a volunteer position, perfect for someone who wants to use their skills to make a positive impact through music and sound.
Responsibilities:
Compose original music (theme songs, background scores, and short jingles) that enhance storytelling and engage young viewers.
Create sound effects and ambient soundscapes to bring the world of Raw Earth Kids to life.
Work closely with our scriptwriters, animators, and lyricists to align music and sound with the tone and themes of each episode.
Develop reusable sound assets (e.g., character jingles, nature-inspired sounds, and musical cues).
Ensure that all music and sounds align with the show’s playful, educational, and nature-focused themes.
Requirements:
Experience in music composition and sound design, preferably in children’s media or animation.
Ability to create fun, engaging, and memorable melodies that reinforce educational content.
Proficiency in music production software (Logic Pro, FL Studio, Ableton, etc.).
Familiarity with sound effects creation and audio mixing for animation.
Passion for environmental education, sustainability, and creating meaningful content for kids.
Ability to collaborate and adapt music based on creative feedback.
Preferred Skills:
Experience scoring for children’s programming, theater, or interactive media.
Understanding of folk, acoustic, or nature-inspired musical styles.
Familiarity with YouTube content creation and digital storytelling.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with an all-volunteer, unpaid staff. Therefore, this role will offer a variety of non-monetary benefits, such as credit documentation and/or public recognition. These benefits are awarded based on volunteers ability to complete tasks on time and complete the minimum amount of volunteer hours required of their role. In order to receive any non-monetary benefit, volunteers will need to complete a minimum of forty hours within their first year of joining our team.
