Creative Director - Retail/Environmental Design

A leading telecomm brand is seeking a Contract Creative Director with expertise in experiential and environmental design. This role is hands-on, crafting immersive 3D environments while also directing teams and collaborating with internal stakeholders and external agencies. The ideal candidate will drive best-in-class experiences that elevate the brand and deliver measurable business impact.
Rate: $50-56 per hour Hybrid in Dallas, TX; 3 days onsite, 2 remote Duration: 10+ months Responsibilities:
Design and direct high-impact 3D environments across physical, digital, and interactive spaces. Partner with brand, sponsorship, experiential, and retail teams to express brand identity through dimensional experiences. Collaborate with external agency partners in both consultative and conceptual roles to ensure world-class execution. Present work to senior leadership, manage project milestones, and oversee creative briefs. Integrate storytelling and user experience principles into physical environments, large-scale graphics, and shareable activations. Stay at the forefront of emerging AR, VR, xR, LED, hologram, and digital technologies to push creative boundaries. Mentor junior designers and foster a culture of creativity and innovation. Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in environmental or experiential design (experiential marketing, architecture, interior, exhibit, or retail disciplines). Expertise in 3D modeling software (Rhino, 3DS Max, or similar) and rendering tools (Vray or comparable). Animation, motion, or video skills are a plus. Strong understanding of human factors, traffic flow, and behavioral psychology in experiential design. Experience with physical production methods and materials, including construction types, lighting, and large-scale graphics. Ability to author creative briefs, manage project timelines, and present to senior executives. Proven track record of leading award-winning experiential activations for major consumer brands. Agency experience is a plus. Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design, industrial design, or a related field.
