Job Description

The Department of Communications invites applications for a Daily Titan Advertising Adviser/Full-Time Lecturer with appointment starting Fall 2025. The successful candidate will teach an equivalent of 15 weighted teaching units (WTUs) each semester (i.e., a full-time position) and oversee Daily Titan business operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Oversee the advertising, marketing, and distribution teams.
  • Ensure all new student team members are properly trained.
  • Coordinate the financial and operational aspects of the Daily Titan.
  • Attend sales and marketing trainings and process paperwork for student scholarships.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with student team members.
  • Support sales and marketing teams by setting sales goals and holding regular meetings.
  • Work closely with the student employee accountant on financial reports.
  • Coordinate with university departments and organize student workshops.
  • Submit budget proposals and ensure successful operation of the publication.

This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mass communication/advertising or a closely related field.
  • Three or more years of professional experience in advertising, advertising sales, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in assessing media pricing and updating marketing materials.
  • Dedication to leading and mentoring students.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and coordinating expenses.
  • Familiarity with advertising or sales software such as CRM databases.
  • Ability to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for addressing and resolving issues promptly.

Compensation
This is a non-tenure track, Lecturer position, renewable annually based on satisfactory performance and funds availability. The salary range is $5,507 to $6,221.10 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
