Job Description

A Joint Use Asset Designer provides technical expertise to solve complex problems and skills to provide work in a specific area of expertise, with supervision. Employees in the Designer position are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Employee in this position will be responsible for the design and management of projects for the Regional Major Projects and

Maintain Programs including:

• Pole Placement/Replacement
• DOT relocations
• Grid Investment Programs
• IVVC
• Targeted Opportunities
• DTUG
• Joint Use
• Large Structure Moves
• Municipal Beautification Projects

Responsibilities:

• Applies technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems in area of expertise
• Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities
• Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches
• Conducts engineering and related studies
• Strives to continually improve job-related, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance
• Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills
• Maintains accurate records and files
• Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally

Desired Qualifications:

• Good written and oral communication skills

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Utility Industry
• 1 year (Required)

Engineering Design:

• 1 year (Required)
• Maximo: 1 year (Required)
• Experience in the utility industry
• Able to effectively apply basic principles of project management
• Understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations
• Hands on distribution line construction experience
• Experience in Distribution Design

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
