LIBRARY DIRECTOR
The City of Sidney is seeking qualified individuals to apply for the position of Library Director. The Library serves approximately 10,000 residents in Sidney and Cheyenne County and is in a growing and dynamic community. This position reports to the Library Board.
Job Summary
The successful candidate for the Sidney Library Director should be able to analyze and solve problems, while also exercising fair judgment. A strong technological background (computers, relevant software and Internet research) also is required. Because the director works with a staff and with the public, the candidate should have strong communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, the library director must have proven ability to take initiative within the workplace, while also assigning job duties to staff members. The director must have strong budgeting experience and ability to develop and recommend policies and programs to the Library Board.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; MLS from an ALA-accredited school preferred.
Five years supervisory experience, preferably in a library setting.
Experience or educational background that demonstrates the ability to do the essential functions of the position.
Additional Information
This is a management position and not eligible for overtime; however, typical work week is 40 hours per week within Monday thru Saturday.
Bi-weekly pay schedule starting at $58,437.
