America's Test Kitchen is seeking an Associate Producer, TV & Podcasts.
The Associate Producer supports the production of America’s Test Kitchen’s successful slate of award-winning TV shows and podcasts. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, a natural problem solver, a strong communicator, and a skilled people person. This role is ideal for someone looking for increasing responsibility as a creative and well-rounded producer.
The TV & Podcast team is small but mighty. Our mission is to create television and audio content that engages existing fans and introduces new audiences to America’s Test Kitchen. We aim to empower home cooks through content that is smart, educational, and entertaining. We’re hyper-collaborative, supportive, and detail-oriented. We come from a range of backgrounds and experiences, and value new perspectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Television
- Perform Associate Producer-level production duties on America’s Test Kitchen, Cook’s Country, television specials, and other designated projects.
- Coordinate shoot logistics, including script distribution, props, and schedule management.
- Prepare production documents as designated by Executive Producer (i.e. call sheets, shoot schedules).
- Manage the milestone schedules and deliverables for particular show segments.
- Coordinate editorial asset collection for post production and review cuts of the shows.
- Produce ad hoc and b-roll shoots.
- Story produce travel packages in post-production.
- Brainstorm segment topics and write scripts for a wide range of subjects (science explainers, historical vignettes, etc.).
- Provide editorial input throughout the production cycle to ensure content is both accurate and consistent with company values and editorial standards.
Podcast
- Support production of America’s Test Kitchen’s podcast, Proof.
- Participate in editorial meetings and group edits, source new stories, and other tasks as directed by the Managing Producer of Podcasts.
- Provide feedback on script drafts and edited episodes.
- Report and produce episodes, ads, and promos as interest and bandwidth allow.
New Show Development
- Participate in development of new television segments, specials, and other media as designated by Executive Producer.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 1-3 years production experience, preferably in TV, radio, podcasts, video, or audio production (college experience considered).
- Extremely, unusually detail-oriented.
- Strong creative writing skills. Script writing experience is a huge plus.
- A go-getter with strong initiative - you don’t wait to be assigned tasks, you look at the big picture, see what needs doing, and manage up.
- Maturity and diplomacy in dealing with people at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, talent, and colleagues on other teams.
- Must be a team player with commitment to professional collaboration.
- A self starter - you take full ownership of tasks with little supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills: when there’s a roadblock, you think creatively to find a way to get the job done.

This position is located in our Boston, MA office in the Seaport district. It is the expectation that the person in this role will work a hybrid schedule of a minimum of 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) in the office and 2 days per week remotely, but this could change during certain weeks in order to meet business needs such as production, shoots, etc., where you will be required to come in more frequently.
