Description
The Service Writer communicates estimates, scheduling, and work details to customers. This requires a firm mechanical understanding of trucks and trailers, along with the ability to communicate the work performed in a knowledgeable and detailed manner.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create detailed work orders for Class 8 equipment repairs or maintenance.
- Provide cost estimates and obtain customer approvals for service work. Estimate, schedule, and invoice repairs in a knowledgeable manner.
- Responsible for providing supporting documents to determine warranty coverage.
- Document requests by the customer such as determining method of payment, authorizations, purchase order numbers as required.
- Acquire customer approvals, provide estimates, book & close all service tickets.
- Offer knowledgeable recommendations for additional services and products.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, repairs, and inventory.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Communicate well to document enough information to properly diagnose the vehicle.
- Stay informed about semi-trailer parts and repair techniques.
- Schedule preventive maintenance and discrepancies into service center.
Requirements
Firm mechanical understanding of Class 8 equipment.
