A construction services company in California is looking to add an experienced professional to their team as their new Vice President of Safety & Fleet. In this role, the Vice President of Safety & Fleet will be responsible for leading and overseeing all safety and fleet management operations within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety program that aligns with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a culture of safety awareness, continuous improvement, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Oversee and optimize the management and maintenance of the company's fleet, including trucks, vehicles, and equipment.
- Implement cost-effective fleet management strategies, including maintenance schedules, fuel efficiency, and replacement schedules.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Build and lead a high-performing Safety & Fleet Management team.
- Identify and assess potential safety and fleet-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop and manage the safety and fleet budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Provide regular reports to senior leadership on safety and fleet performance, KPIs, and recommendations for improvements.
- Lead and supervise a team of Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators across various locations.
- Ensure that Safety Managers and Regional Safety Coordinators stay up to date with the latest safety regulations and industry trends.
- Perform other duties, as needed.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Safety & Fleet Management.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in a Leadership and/or Supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Safety regulations and compliance, as well as Fleet Management best practices.
- Experience in managing budgets and driving cost-effective solutions.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Great interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Fleet Manager (CFM) designation.
- Experience working in the Construction and/or Distribution industry.
