Plumbing Designer

Position: Plumbing Designer Location: Toledo, OH
Job Id: 1961 # of Openings: 1 Fishbeck is currently initiating a search for a plumbing design / draftsman to to join our Mechanical Engineering team in our Maumee, OH office. This position requires participation in concept and technical design, performing calculations, preparing specifications, systems selection, CAD layout, and assisting with construction observation. The ideal candidate will have experience in consulting design for plumbing and fire protection systems for a variety of facilities. Qualified candidates should posses an Associate Engineering Technologies degree from an ABET-accredited institution with experience in building systems design. Primary Functions

• Perform Revit and AutoCAD design for plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with staff in the architecture, electrical, and structural departments to execute project designs.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of MEP BIM/Revit technology.
• Perform plumbing design tasks under the direction of Project Engineers/Manager.
• Prepare contract documents, drawings and specifications.

Minimum Physical Requirements
Occasionally exposed to light lifting, sitting, and walking. May perform duties in the field and will be required to access and maneuver around project sites and use a computer. Capable of traveling to and from projects is occasionally required. Ability to use equipment for communication and documentation purposes. Visual acuity to perform responsibilities. Desired Education Associates Degree Plumbing Engineering or Plumbing Engineering Technology Desired Skills/Experience

• 1-5+ years designing plumbing systems in a consulting environment
• Experience as a plumbing tradesman working on healthcare, educational, commercial, and industrial facilities.
• AutoCAD experience is a plus; 3D (BIM) or Revit experience is strongly preferred.
• Broad plumbing code knowledge.
• Knowledge and experience with building codes.
• Certified in Fire Protection design (CPD) a plus.
• Experience in piping design in steam and chilled water generating and distribution is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, be team-oriented, and a self-starter.
• A good aptitude for spatial design.
• Excellent computer skills.
