Position Overview
The VP, Associate Creative Director, Copy is a senior-level creative department position. The CD/ACD is the key day-to-day point of contact and partner for Account Management in defining and executing the promotional plan for the client’s business.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration. The role will be based out of our office located in New York City. All candidates must be willing to commute into the office on a regular basis.
Responsibilities
Oversight of the book of business for a brand or brands handled by his/her creative team
In partnership with the CD/ACD, Art, ensures the quality of ideation and execution of all work across assigned brands
Partners with Medical to maintain the highest level of scientific accuracy in development of promotional work, as well as exploration of new opportunities based upon the data
Partners with Strategy and Account on project deliverables and objectives
Crafts superior promotional copy, including messages, concepts, and campaigns
Has the strategic acumen to complete the Creative Brief for conceptual assignments, and refine it with input from Creative Director, Medical, Account, and Strategy
Creative leadership
Leads cross-department conceptual efforts
Takes a key role in developing and presenting new business pitches
Sets and reinforces standards for creative excellence (STORM criteria) across the department
Serves as a senior creative lead for the extended agency team; value recognized by the client
Takes a leadership role on team strategic and tactical planning
Partners with Studio, Digital, and Presentation to help establish and maintain the highest possible standards of execution for all materials across media
Discovers and delivers enrichment opportunities for the department and the agency; enhances agency-wide initiatives such as Start Class
Team management
Evaluates creative ideation and execution; provides perspective for enhancement of team skill set and expertise
Provides regular feedback, including completion of APEs, and encourages their professional development
Responsible for team utilization and workflow (staff allocation, project timing, and budgets) and issue management
Proactively assesses processes and people for improvement; anticipates and intervenes to prevent potential crises
Skills
Exceptional creative ideation and evaluation skills, with the facility to work across media and audiences
Routinely puts the best work on the wall in creative reviews—a go-to person for great ideas
Expertise and understanding of the regulatory and business environment of healthcare communications
Able to conceive and deliver strong presentations, whether on creative, strategic, or agency educational topics
Cool under pressure, flexible thinker, able to prioritize and delegate
Education/Experience
8+ years in healthcare communications, ideally with a history of leadership in
Large team and/or multiple brand management
Bringing new assets from pre-launch through launch (including high-science and accelerated approval products, with cross channel campaign execution)
Cross-functional teams (combining Medical Communications, PR, Promotion, etc.)
New business pitches
Global assignments
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Continually pursues personal development to stay current and better understand our brands and business
Recipient of awards for creative excellence
Salary Range: $180,000 - $205,000
The salary range provided represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need.
