Position Summary:

This position will serve as a dual role for the college. We are seeking an experienced grant writer as well as seeking assistance in our workforce development and community education department. This key role will be responsible for writing grants and assisting in the development of grant proposals to secure funding for the college. The successful candidate will have exceptional writing, analytical, and research skills, as well as the ability to interface effectively with faculty, staff, administration, and sponsoring agencies. Additionally, this key role will be responsible for assisting in the coordination and the scheduling of workforce development and community education programming.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Write a significant number of targeted grant proposals for the college. 2. Conduct prospect research of sources of external funding opportunities from public and private entities. 3. Meet regularly with Belmont College faculty and department leaders to increase interest and involvement in grant writing. 4. Assist college stakeholders with responding to requests for proposal and developing applications for funding. 5. Assist in editing grant applications for structure, completeness, accuracy, consistency, and appropriateness of content, as well as grammar and readability. 6. Assist in the grant submission process, including interpretation of guidelines to ensure successful completion and compliance. 7. Maintain a current grant matrix to include all submitted applications, awarded or rejected. 8. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, local, and other agency regulations and policies to assure compliance.

9. Collaborate with the Vice President of Organizational Effectiveness and others in Workforce Development to plan and market contract training programs.

10. Call on organizations and associations to analyze their need of training and educational services.

11. Gather and develop curriculum and related material for programs.

12. Locate and recommend qualified part time faculty.

13. Coordinate the implementation of contracted training programs.

14. Demonstrate understanding of the two-year college and its community services mission.

15. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

16. Promote quality awareness and an ability to identify, analyze, and solve problems.

17. Coordinate with and back up Academic Specialist as needed in regard to: word processing, filing, copying, financial records, student advisement, mailings, enrollment records, brochures, and course records (enrollment, certificate completion, registration, and syllabi).

18. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements: • Bachelor's degree required. • Strong interpersonal and writing skills; including ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative professional relationships with staff and faculty colleagues. • Previous grant writing experience.
