BrainStorm
Creative Director .:. print focus (Remote | 30 hours/week | April - June)
BrainStorm, Washington, District of Columbia, us, 20022
A Washington, DC-based strategic creative agency is looking to engage a highly experienced, print-focused, design leader in a temporary role between April and June 2025.
We're hoping to talk with individuals who have deep experience concepting long-form documents and collateral, presenting ideas to stakeholders, managing the design and production process, and providing guidance and support to mid-level designers. This is a design design leadership role that does not require administrative management involvement.
Applicants who also have demonstrable experience producing user experience (UX) wireframes and documentation will rise to the top of our call list. This is a "nice to have" and not a requirement. Individuals who can share examples of work they've done on social media graphics, banner ads and other sharable content will be able to support this agency in other ways in the near-term and over a longer arc of time.
The creative agency is part of the Omnicron Group's worldwide network of advertising, marketing, public relations and communications firms. Just about all work will be for consumer-facing national and international brands that you already know well.
HISTORY: Brainstorm Creative Resources has supported the client organization in an ongoing capacity since 2022, on a wide variety of design and development projects. Multiple Brainstorm Creative Resources-referred freelancers have developed enduring working relationships with agency stakeholders.
WORK LOCATION: This is a fully remote, 100% work-from-home, freelance opportunity. All work can be done from the location of your choice in the United States. We will mention though, that if you are in the Washington, DC area and you are interested in working with a terrific group of creative peers at the agency's offices, you will likely be able to do so some of the time. Most of the agency's creative team works in-office three days each week.
RATES: Brainstorm Creative Resources actively counsels its clients to pay competitively so that we can do the same. For the primary scope of work described above we are suggesting a rate range of $80/hour to $100/hour. We are open to discussing higher rates with applicants whose portfolios showcase a significant depth and variety of interactive design work.
As always... It is unlikely (but not impossible) that we will offer early career applicants a rate near the top of the stated range. Alternatively, highly experienced professionals at any point in their careers whose resumes indicate substantial, relevant experience can expect that we will make a strong case to our client, to pay you near or at the top of the range -- or possibly beyond.
Actual rates offered will be commensurate with your experience and current market norms and will also largely be based on the following factors: credentials as detailed in your resume, your portfolio or other example work submitted, your initial interactions with Brainstorm Creative Resources and/or the hiring organization, and quality of reference providers and references provided.
APPLICATION: Brainstorm Creative Resources is a recruiting and staffing firm that has been focused on placing creative and editorial professionals into freelance and full-time positions with Washington, DC-area employers since 2003.
