Posting Summary

Reporting to the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives & Planning, oversee and provide leadership in facilitating specialized strategic engagement through multimedia services and coordinating marketing, public relations and design functions to influence, define and support University communications goals. Oversee marketing and communications strategies on behalf of the Department for Residential Life, provide support to the seven units within the department, and work with Strategic Communications on special projects that has a direct connection to residential life. Utilize collected data to effectively communicate the departmental vision in accordance to the UVM style guide and divisional efforts. Manage the online presence including websites and social media with consideration to accessibility and inclusivity and assist with production of a variety of media and marketing products including posters and graphic design for digital and print outlets. Oversee the customer service desk and office manager that serves as an information hub for residential students, department staff, and other University personnel. Oversee customer service response to major administrative processes such as Opening, Closing, early arrivals, late stays, and damage appeals to provide exceptional customer service to our students and families. Communicate with students and parents about housing processes via Salesforce and policies and provide periodic training to department staff. In conjunction with the Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives and Planning, this position will provide visionary, administrative and communication support to the Director for the Department of Residential Life.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Master’s degree in a relevant field with three to five years progressive experience in supervision, student support, marketing, communications, customer service, or a related field.

Proficient in marketing principles, research, and multimedia production.

Experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) database for constituent and case management activities.

Strong organizational and project management skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities. Technical proficiency in web and graphic design, with familiarity in accessibility standards. Ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and maintain a strategic, data-driven approach to communications.

Desirable Qualifications

3-5 years of experience utilizing a Customer Relationship Management ( CRM ) database for constituent and case management activities.

Anticipated Pay Range $62,000 - 70,000

Other Information

Special Conditions Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), A probationary period may be required for current UVM employees, Background Check required for this position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period
