Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, s/he will oversee the efforts to strengthen and align CII's brand throughout the organization in support of key agency wide priorities, implement digital and traditional marketing research goals, and generate awareness of the agency's work and community impact throughout greater Los Angeles and California.
DUTIES
SUMMARY
Responsible for the strategic planning, creation, development and implementation of all digital and traditional marketing and communications efforts of Children's Institute (CII). Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, s/he will oversee the efforts to strengthen and align CII's brand throughout the organization in support of key agency wide priorities, implement digital and traditional marketing research goals, and generate awareness of the agency's work and community impact throughout greater Los Angeles and California.

Creates and implements innovative and compelling integrated marketing strategies and solutions that build and reinforce the CII brand. Develops measuring systems for determining the success of digital and traditional marketing programs. Supervises the collection, analysis and reporting of digital and traditional marketing data. Creates, monitors and reports digital and traditional marketing budgets, costs and forecasts. Builds and leads a comprehensive, full-service and results-driven marketing team, including hiring, training, assigning workloads, setting schedules and deadlines; counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Provides marketing team with clear goals and impact measurements. Assists with developing present and future CII events and campaigns by determining and evaluating current and future market trends. Creates, implements, and manages digital communications, multi-media and social media to promote CII's outreach and fundraising campaigns, the impact of CII's work in our community, involvement/engagement opportunities with community members and other agency priorities as determined throughout the year. Produces collateral materials for CII including the agency's Annual Report, Impact Report, and Early Childhood Services report. Develops and implements crisis communications strategy and action plan for CII. Collaborates and strategizes with CII's Development and Technology Departments to leverage the agency's CRM platform (Raiser's Edge) to provide key data analytics as part of an overall communications and community engagement strategy. Provides strategic direction, copy content and production oversight for the design, creation and distribution of all CII materials, as well as provide marketing oversight for CII's major events serving multiple target audiences. Oversees the cultivation of media interest in CII, the maintenance of ongoing relations with target media, and the rapid response to media requests. Builds collaborative relationships with all staff throughout CII, volunteer leadership, CII's affiliated agencies and support groups. Ensures that the day-to-day operations and work products of the marketing and communications team align with CII's overall marketing strategy. Effectively guides an account management process to serve internal departments' needs, projects and priorities while providing guidance, expertise and creative solutions. Develops, engages, recruits and schedules CII clients and stakeholders to participate in speaking opportunities and online content on behalf of CII throughout the year. Oversees the creation, development, and production of any regional advertising campaigns and paid media campaigns for CII. Develops, presents and monitors the Marketing & Communications Department budget to ensure efficiency and a clear ROI. Develops, monitors and evaluates the Marketing & Communication's Department's goals and metrics to measure the impact towards CII's strategic, programmatic and fundraising targets. ADDITIONAL DUTIES

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the direct reports. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. This job supervises 2-5 staff. QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
5+ years of managerial, supervisory experience. 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, publishing and/or media relations, gained in senior level positions of increasing responsibility and scope at organizations of significant complexity. Demonstrated experience in graphic arts, social media, social media analytics, creating digital and traditional marketing plans and successful digital and traditional marketing and public relations collateral. Demonstrated experience in using social media analytics, market research and data analytics to strategize messaging over multiple channels, including video, electronic media and print. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, or related field from a four-year university required. Master's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, business administration, or related field preferred. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

In accordance with California law, the expected pay range for this position is included in this posting. The actual compensation will be determined based on factors permitted by law. New hires will be offered a salary at the starting point of the range to maintain internal inequity and allow opportunity for future salary growth. CII salaries are determined based on comprehensive internal and external market analysis, as well as the skills, education, and experience relevant to each position.
