Job Description
The
Sr. Marketing Manager, Strategic Planning
will lead the short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategic planning efforts for the Bose consumer electronics division, driving the direction of marketing initiatives to align with business goals. This is a senior position that will lead the learning agenda and integration of insights throughout GTM process, impacting both our quarterly and annual planning cycles. Working in close partnership with cross-functional teams (Sales Planning, Product Marketing, Brand Strategy team), this role will be instrumental in developing comprehensive business cases, managing strategic initiatives, and advising on portfolio decisions, investment choices to optimize market performance and profitability. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Planning Translate corporate goals into actionable marketing objectives, ensuring alignment with product, sales, and overall business strategies.
Facilitate the development of annual and 3 Yr (Long term) strategic marketing plans, coordinating timelines, resource allocation, and KPIs.
Advise on resource allocation and prioritization of marketing initiatives based on ROI potential, market conditions, and strategic fit.
Work closely with finance to develop and monitor budgets, ensuring resource allocation aligns with business objectives and financial constraints.
Portfolio and Resource Optimization Influence the strategic product roadmaps to align with the direction of marketing and business initiatives over medium, and long-term horizons.
Own recommendations on product tiering, marketing spending and country prioritization as part of annual planning process.
Build understanding of the global market and work with the market teams to build comprehensive plans.
Influence company forecasts via quarterly cycle planning process in collaboration with insights and analytics team.
Consumer and Market Insights Work with CRI team to utilize data analytics and forecasting, to create predictive models and scenario plans that help drive strategic decision-making.
Conduct ongoing analysis of market dynamics, and competitor strategies to identify opportunities and potential threats.
Monitor technology trends, market demand shifts, and competitor launches to assess implications for strategy and future planning.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Influence Serve as the strategic advisor and key liaison between Brand Strategy team and other business team, including product marketing, finance, and sales.
Actively participate in product roadmap discussions to ensure alignment with consumer needs and market opportunities.
Partner with sales and distribution teams to integrate strategic plans with channel and retail strategies.
Scenario Planning and Performance Management Track the progress of key marketing campaigns and provide optimization recommendations and future considerations to strategists and activation leads.
Co-own and author monthly marketing reporting focused on quarterly and annual OKRs.
Develop contingency plans and scenario analyses for different market conditions, consumer shifts, and competitive actions.
Assess and anticipate risks that may impact strategic goals, advising leadership on adjustments needed to mitigate threats.
Provide robust measurement frameworks, KPIs and target setting aligned to quarterly + annual strategies and plans.
Qualifications: Education : Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA highly preferred).
Experience : 10+ years in strategic planning, consulting or marketing strategy, ideally in consumer electronics or a technology-driven industry.
Proven expertise in market analysis, data analytics, and business modeling to drive strategic planning.
Ability to solve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business
Demonstrated experience in long-term planning and scenario development.
Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at various levels within the organization.
Ability to leads project teams to achieve milestones and objectives without management or supervision
