We're looking for a passionate Data Scientist to help us in our mission to create a state-of-the-art consumer-grade enterprise experience that connects, empowers, and delights our users. You will join a Data Science group that is bringing scientific rigor to understand what our customers and end users are doing in our products, leveraging empirical research methods to extract meaningful patterns from large data sets, visualizing that information in truly cutting-edge ways that is furthering a whole new level of empathy, and scaling our approaches to the daunting breadth of our enterprise products. In addition, the Data Science group is embedded within the larger Research organization and partners closely with the qualitative researchers, enabling an integrated viewpoint of both scale and in-depth understanding of customer behaviors. You have several years of experience using your quantitative toolkit to facilitate high quality research, applying the right methods to the right problems, and practice these in real business context. + You are driven by impact. Career Level - IC4 Responsibilities What will you do as a Principal Data Scientist at Oracle? + Understand and develop metrics that provide actionable insights on how users experience Oracle's applications + Investigate user behavior and user needs using empirical research methods such as log analysis, path modeling, and regression analysis + Develop code and statistical models to identify patterns and trends in user behavior + Develop effective measurement frameworks and reports for non-technical audiences to enable actionable insights to improve user experience + Collaborate with a team of data scientists and engineers to ensure data quality and accuracy across our entire data science footprint + Focus on the delivery of insights using data, rather than on using new technology for its own sake + Dive deep into usage data to understand problem and opportunity areas for complex and massively scaled enterprise products. + Collaborate closely with partners in design and product management to learn complex domains, assess needs, ask the right questions, and understand how analysis or new metrics could move business decision-making forward. + You don't stop there. You will work to iterate and refine our metrics and processes to ensure our users are always accessing correct and useful information. What skills/abilities/background would you ideally possess? + Master's or PhD degree in HCI, Statistics, Cognitive Psychology, Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field. + 7-10 years of experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement. + Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets (especially clickstream data). + A successful history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets. + Strong evidence of supporting, leading, and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. + Advanced knowledge of a common programming language (e.g., Python, R, Java, Scala) + Extensive experience in user or product analytics (especially in an Enterprise setting) + Experience in one of the following is a plus: Data Visualization, developing and evaluating A/B testing pipelines Disclaimer: Certain US customer or client-facing roles may be required to comply with applicable requirements, such as immunization and occupational health mandates. Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only US: Hiring Range in USD from: $109,200 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity. Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
