Position SummaryGirl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana is seeking a motivated part-time Social Media Specialist. This is an exciting, fast-paced position in the evolving world of social media. This individual ensures that messages, content, and social engagement are relevant to the target audience and the Girl Scout brand objectives. Candidates must have excellent relationship-building, attention to detail, writing, and communication skills, along with a passion for the Girl Scout mission.Duties and Responsibilities:Content Creation and DevelopmentCreate content (written, photo, and video) for several social media channels, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Instagram Stories, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok and YouTube.Manage the content calendar by creating theme, content and scheduling monthly requests across our platforms.Day-to-day social media engagement of several social media channels (replying to questions and concerns, adding new followers, following relevant accounts etc.).Respond timely to social media messages and comments.Track, analyze, and report out the performance of social media posts and channels and make recommendations accordingly.Work with in-house designer, freelance photographers and videographers, etc. to produce creative assetsFollow and develop best practices for social media and share with Girl Scout staff and volunteers.Attend weekly team meetingsRequired SkillsAssociate degree (minimum)Knowledge of all social media platformsPrior experience utilizing third-party social media scheduling softwareAbility to multitask and meet various deadlines.Timeliness and strong written and verbal communication skills with teams across the councilSocial media campaign creation and analytics tracking experienceMust have experience creating content and graphics for social media using Canva and Adobe Creative SuiteProactive, driven, and creative individual with strong organizational skillsProblem-solving, ability to take initiative, and de-escalating skillsPreferred Skills:Passion for girl empowerment and keeping up with generational trendsPhotography, video capturing and editing skillsPaid ads creation and trackingExperience making website updates or desire to learnCompensation: $25-30/hr
