The internship is designed for students interested in working in the studio operations and/or post-production spaces of the entertainment industry.

UNLV Internship Overview

Warner Bros. Discovery is proud to partner with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to offer five students a paid, hands-on internship within Warner Bros. Studios Burbank Operations. This immersive experience provides credited training in studio operations, helping develop the next generation of entertainment industry professionals.

Program Details:
Eligibility: Candidates must be rising UNLV Juniors or Seniors and Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates authorized to work for any U.S. employer without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. Individuals on student or exchange visas, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., are ineligible for the internship program.
Location: Warner Bros. Studios Burbank
Internship Duration: 6 weeks, Summer 2025
Dates: June 9 - July 25, 2025

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Compensation: $19/hour + $5,000 housing stipend

About Studio Operations
Studio Operations manages sound stages, backlot sets, and production offices, supporting productions with grip and lighting, costume and prop rentals, and filming logistics.

Internship Experience
Interns will rotate across departments, working with diverse teams on multiple productions, from talk shows to feature films. Rather than focusing on a single project, interns will collaborate with diverse teams to support productions at every stage of the process, gaining invaluable insights into the physical and post-production backbone of our company.

Intern Responsibilities
As a Studio Operations Intern, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in the client service center, handling inquiries from potential clients looking to rent stages, offices, or conference rooms, and supporting current clients with on-lot needs such as repairs or utility setups.
  • Attending production scouts to guide on-lot productions through the logistics of filming in various locations, including backlots and non-set areas.
  • Compiling and distributing shoot logistics by creating detailed maps and memos for exterior filming, ensuring seamless coordination across departments such as Security.
  • Crafting content for our WBSO marketing social media accounts to highlight our operations and productions.
  • Inputting client inquiries into our Salesforce database for tracking and follow-up.
  • Assembling and posting the daily production call sheet packet to the Operations website, keeping teams informed and aligned.
  • Assisting in the planning and execution of events hosted by Post, including screenings, equipment exhibits, and showcases of historical Warner Bros. post-production technology.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure these events effectively highlight remaster releases and other key Post products for clients.
  • Maintaining recording stages, editing bays, and client spaces by ensuring they are organized, stocked, and ready for use. Providing high-level support to ensure seamless and professional client experiences.
  • Supporting Post's awards initiatives, including preparing submissions and coordinating social media and marketing efforts to highlight Warner Bros.-affiliated nominees.
Sample Internship Rotation

  • Week 1: Studio Operations
  • Week 2: Studio Services
  • Weeks 3-4: Production Rentals
  • Week 5: Production Sound
  • Week 6: Post-Production
We're looking for an intern who:
  • Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite, strong customer service skills.
  • Preferred: Passion for film/TV, Adobe Photoshop skills, confidence in public speaking.

Besides the more well-known production positions like director or screenwriter what's a production position that plays an important role in making television or film that doesn't get as much recognition and why are they so integral to a production's success?
•Behind-the-Scenes Magic:
Studio Operations is often described as the "unsung hero" of production. In your opinion, what makes the work of Studio Operations essential to creating great content? Share an example (real or hypothetical) of how excellent studio operations could make or break a production.
•From Concept to Credits:
Choose a favorite film, show, or production you admire. What role do you think Studio Operations might have played in bringing it to life? How would you approach contributing to similar productions as an intern?

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns.
