Role Summary The Head of Technology Solutions is accountable for the establishment of this new team who will deliver and engineer high-quality solutions at pace to enable the delivery of Business technology projects for new Service contract delivery and continuous improvement initiatives. The solution delivery process covers design, estimating proposals, and developing or configuring the software applications or technology solutions and where appropriate, 3rd line support. The Solution Engineering team will be a combination of employees and 3rd party product suppliers. The scope of solutions team is all applications and technology platforms deployed to support the delivery of our service contracts e.g. Case management tools, Telephony, automation or integration platforms. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesSolution Design & Development
Work with Solution Architectures, Technical Delivery leads, and Business / Client process or product owners to undertake detailed design and estimates for the required solution delivery scope and assuring re-use wherever possible. Manage 3rd parties to develop or configure required solutions assuring the quality meets the required business needs. Ensure effective demand & supply management to assure solution delivery aligns with agreed schedules, budgets, resourcing, and scope/outcomes. Manage risks & issues proactively, identifying and addressing decisions that need to be escalated for solution development/configuration or platform management. Plan and manage releases into production ensuring all required components are integrated into a release and all architecture standards, security, privacy, and ITIL processes are followed. Supporting & Scaling New Innovations
Partner with Digital Innovation and Architecture teams to support PoC's and Pilots of new technology solutions. Engineer solutions to assure they meet all required standards and performance levels for business operations and enable re-use at scale. Standards and Quality
Define and deliver an efficient design and delivery lifecycle with appropriate use of tooling and automation to enable delivery at pace and assure quality. Manage a Quality and Testing team for Technology to assure the quality of solutions through inspection and testing methods and tools. Stakeholder Management
Maintain transparency of Solution development/configuration delivery through active review and communication of delivery performance to SLAs to key stakeholders. Ensure effective communications to all stakeholders and staff with high levels of engagement regarding operational technology services. Financial Management
Contribute to the annual budget process and manage finances to forecast. 3rd Party Provider Management
Partner with 3rd party outsource and solution/platform providers to manage performance to agreed SLAs and drive innovation of service. Leadership & Management
Ensure effective collaboration between all service contributors (internal Maximus resources, contract resources, and any external resources). Provide active leadership and management of Solution team members. Manage and develop the Maximus Solution team to meet their individual potential. Salary £95,000 - £105,000 with £6,000 car allowance Qualifications and / or ExperienceEssential
Degree level or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study. Demonstrable experience leading Solution Engineering teams. Substantial experience of designing and developing technology solutions delivery. Track record of delivering improvements to ways of working. Demonstrable experience of managing solution development to high service standards. Experience of DevOps and Agile delivery methods and tools. Desirable
Experience of using development lifecycle methodologies and tools. Individual Competencies
Proactive, methodical, and thorough approach to development and delivery of solutions. Excellent ability to communicate in both written and oral forms. Ability to work independently to objectives and manage multiple high-priority initiatives. Customer and user focused, with the ability to understand stakeholder goals.
