to coordinate the activities of a vibrant community of musicians, teachers, and scholars. This position is responsible for many aspects of program operations including faculty and student support, admissions, alumni relations, marketing, events planning and coordinating the initiatives and innovations of the program faculty. The Program Associate is the main point person for students for all program-related questions. This position reports to the Music & Music Education Program Director and Director of Academic Administration for the Arts & Humanities Department. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work closely with the Program Director to develop and execute academic Manage semester course schedule and catalog updates Provide registration support and coordinate cross-registration processes In conjunction with faculty, enter scholarship recommendations and enter financial aid awards in APEX; Manage preparations for program orientations; develop and update information packets and presentations; and student advisement guides; Develop and maintain student database including current students and alumni; Ensure that student files are complete and up-to-date; Oversee student outreach and communication; address student concerns, issues and questions; Assist with alumni relations and communications; Work together with the Department Digital Content Coordinator to maintain/update program websites and social media outlets to support the Music & Music Education community and ensure publicity for program events. Prepare ad hoc materials and special projects; Organize special events, including orientations, conferences, lectures, and guest speakers, musical concerts and workshops; Be liaison with relevant Departmental programs and other college and university offices; Assist Department Staff with student and instructional hiring - including preparing job descriptions and pay; Other administrative duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with budget management Highly organized and entrepreneurial Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment Professional attitude Proficiency with Google Suite, as well as social media and content creation platforms (e.g., WordPress, Canva) Must not be a student in the Music and Music Education Program Preferred Qualifications:

Music or Music Education background or experience working in the arts Knowledge of Teachers College systems (Banner, ePAFs, Unimarket, Slate, Chrome River, APEX)
