We are hiring for an Assistant Technical Designer for a top fashion company in New York, NY!
Responsibilities: Prepare for daily fittings by measuring fit samples and recording details in FLEX PLM. Review and document discrepancies in sample construction against the tech package before fittings. Create and distribute daily fit schedules ahead of fit meetings. Maintain tracking reports, measurement records, and WIP reports. Attend fit sessions, take detailed notes, capture photos, and assist in communicating fit feedback to vendors. Organize and maintain the fit sample closet, ensuring samples are properly filed and neatly arranged. Support 3D initiatives by organizing and maintaining a digital library of fit blocks, approved samples, and garment images Collaborate with Design teams and senior Technical Designers on 3D project requests. Prepare 3D project templates, photograph physical samples, and organize production patterns and packages for the overseas 3D team. Assist with additional technical design projects and initiatives as needed. Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit standards, patternmaking, and grade rules. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong time management, organizational skills, and task follow-through. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior organizational abilities. Education & Experience:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Apparel or a related field from a fashion school is preferred. Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with FLEX PLM.
