As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will generate insights that guide content programming, selection optimization, and product development for our customers. You will be tasked with building a more granular and complete understanding of who our customers are and how they engage with content across the Prime Video Marketplace. Data analysis is at the core Amazon’s culture, and your work will have a direct impact on decision making and strategy for our team and helping senior leaders make key business decisions. You will have the opportunity to work with one of the largest and most complex data warehouses in the world to gather insights using data from first party data and research.The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and large data sets. They will have strong attention to detail and an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. They will have strong SQL skills, experience building visual dashboards, and the ability to clearly communicate information to business stakeholders. Key job responsibilities• Strong interest and ability to take complex datasets and boil them down to actionable data visualizations.• Own the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing performance dashboards, metrics, reports, analyses, etc. to drive key business decisions.• Build scalable, efficient, and automated data processes to inform business decision making.• Proactively develop new metrics and studies to quantify customer behavior and reduce customer churn. About the teamThe PAD BI team is the primary BI partner to the Global Programming Strategy and Global Consumer Insights team. Our scope encompasses infrastructure development along with driving insights through analytics solutions that make complex data clear and easy for stakeholders to self service. We measure success based on the adoption of these services and their usage in development pipelines, greenlight recommendations, and service-level gains with target audiences.Basic qualifications- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines- Experience developing and presenting recommendations of new metrics allowing better understanding of the performance of the businessPreferred qualification - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab- 5+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience- Experience building and analyzing large datasets with customer segmentation.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
