Cloud Chamber is looking for a Senior Audio Programmer to join our team and collaborate closely with our developers and audio team to design, maintain, and optimize high-performance audio systems across all target platforms. You will report to the Lead Audio Programmer and operate under the guidance of our Audio Director to build audio systems and audio pipeline for a strongly narrative and systemic game.
Audio is one of the most powerful tools in creating an immersive gaming experience, acting as a direct connection to the player’s senses and emotions. By carefully crafting audio feedback, we aim to make it an integral part of nearly everything we create—enhancing gameplay, heightening atmosphere, and deepening player engagement. We believe that sound has the ability to draw players into the world we build, making their experience feel more intuitive, emotional, and real.
Job Duties:
- Design and maintain audio systems in Unreal Engine 5, including acoustic simulation and audio pipelines.
- Collaborate closely with the Voice Design and Audio Design teams to meet creative and technical needs.
- Develop editor tools to streamline workflows for sound designers.
- Ensure audio performance across all targeted platforms.
- Support Gameplay and AI teams in prototyping and implementing audio features.
- Manage and integrate third-party solutions such as Audiokinetic Wwise.
You should be comfortable and excited to work in an iterative, experimental paradigm. We think you should be familiar with the demands of the role but also still hoping to learn and improve, have a passion for audio and be excited to experiment with audio systems in order to create a fantastically immersive experience for players.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 5+ years industry or related experience.
- 1 or more published AAA video game titles.
- Previous experience working in an Audio Programming role, preferably at a senior capacity.
- Current generation AAA console experience.
- Experience with Audiokinetic Wwise and Unreal is a plus.
- Strong Math Skills.
- Strong C++ experience.
- Flexible and collaborative mindset and attitude.
- Self-motivated, curious, and collaborative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to problem-solve and prioritize issues while developing a production pipeline.

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect:
Colorado: $76,500 and $150,000 per year
California: $87,400 and $175,000 per year
New York State (inclusive of New York City): $98,400 and $185,000 per year
Washington: $76,500 and $137,700 per year
Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
