We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Graphics/Print Production Artist to join our team. As the graphics/production specialist, you will be responsible for creating and preparing computer-generated artwork for print production; vinyl and/or full-color graphics that can be applied or printed and mounted to a substrate.

Duties:

  1. Collaborate with clients and design members to create print-ready artwork for various projects.
  2. Create and modify layouts, ensuring proper placement of text, images, and graphics.
  3. Prepare files for print production, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand guidelines.
  4. Administer color management processes to ensure accurate reproduction of artwork.
  5. Prepare large format print jobs for production, including file preparation, color management, and layout adjustments as needed.
  6. Operate large format printers, laminators, and cutters to produce high-quality graphics.
  7. Create computer-generated vinyl and/or full-color graphics output that can be weeded, cut, and applied or printed and mounted to a substrate.
  8. Perform other duties as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  2. Strong knowledge of layout design principles and graphic design techniques
  3. Strong understanding of color management, file preparation, and printing techniques for digital output and large format signage
  4. Experience in digital print production processes.
  5. Ability to interpret job specifications and work orders accurately, adjusting settings and parameters for optimal print results.
  6. Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities to collaborate with colleagues and follow instructions.
  7. Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications – specifically Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  2. Knowledge/experience in graphic design, typography, and color theory principles is a plus
  3. Moderate to advanced knowledge of Onyx
  4. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 65 lbs.
  5. Ability to stand for long periods of time

Education & Experience

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate’s degree in graphic design, visual arts, illustration, or a related field, or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of related graphic design experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience relevant to the role may be considered for this position.

Working Environment and Equipment:

Standard office environment.
Standard graphics equipment.

*This is a contract position through UTMB Healthcare Systems Staffing (In-house staffing agency for UTMB). Therefore, no benefits are associated with this position.

Compensation

  • Hiring Range: $20.00 - $23.00
