Music Instructors: Multiple Positions Job at Rock Island Sound in Village of Tar

Rock Island Sound, Westchester's premier music school and musical instrument store, is hiring music teachers for our two locations (Tarrytown and Rye).

The instruments we teach include (but are not limited to) guitar, piano, voice, drums, violin, bass guitar, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, alto sax and trumpet. We also offer courses in composition and recording.

We are looking for long-term instructors with a team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications:

• 4+ years’ experience teaching and/or performing music professionally
• Knowledge of music theory
• Must live in Westchester County or the surrounding area
• Have reliable transportation
• Comfortable teaching in-person and virtual lessons
• Strong customer relations skills
• Ideal candidate is a working musician who also has formal music school training and is passionate, flexible, and patient when interacting with students

Responsibilities:

• Teach weekly lessons to students of all ages
• Communicate clearly with management, as well as parents of students
• Submit weekly lesson reports
• Foster a dynamic musical experience that engages and inspires students
• Prepare students for concerts and other performance activities

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
