The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic PR Associate Director to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic public relations plans that enhance the company's brand, increase visibility, and support business objectives. This role requires a creative thinker with excellent communication skills and a proven track record in managing media relations and public perception. This role will support within EY's Assurance practice and should help the firm gain positive exposure and create business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Partner with EY management to understand business objectives and establish PR programs that promote the firm.
2. Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
3. Manage and oversee all public relations activities, including media relations, press releases, social media, and work with our BMC leader on crisis management.
4. Build positive relationships with key media contacts to gain positive exposure for the firm, which should lead to business opportunities.
5. Create and distribute compelling content, including press releases, articles, and social media posts.
6. Promote EY through media briefings, news releases, events, round tables, and articles.
7. Coordinate national PR strategies with regional public relations efforts to help promote the firm across multiple venues.
8. Develop multi-disciplinary PR/Communications plans to highlight EY's talents and market leadership.
9. Collaborate with BMC team, including marketing, communications, and executive leadership, to ensure cohesive messaging.
10. Analyze appropriate communications channels to build awareness of the firm's key messages.
11. Contribute to EY’s national thought leadership development and executive visibility.
12. Prepare and train company spokespeople for media interviews and public appearances.
13. Analyze PR campaign performance and provide regular reports to senior management.
14. Gain a good understanding of the firm's practice area.
15. Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

Skills and attributes for success:

1. Adept at overseeing press collateral development along with retaining and managing outside PR agency support.
2. Strong understanding of media relations, crisis communication, and brand management.
3. Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative PR campaigns.
4. Knowledge of digital marketing and social media strategies.

To qualify for the role, you must have:

1. 7-plus years of public relations/communications-related experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field or equivalent experience.
3. Demonstrated success in building internal and external relationships at a senior level with a proven track record of success in public relations.
4. Understanding of the complexities of dealing with the media — identifying opportunities without creating risks.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (including presentations) as well as listening, interpretation, and influencing skills.
6. Excellent project management skills, team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with media and stakeholders.
8. Experience in managing a team and working collaboratively across departments.
9. Supervisory skills, including delegating, coaching, defining expectations, etc.

What we offer:

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $196,400. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,400 to $204,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
