Job Summary

As the Director of Media Partnership & IRL Video, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and brand awareness for The Defiant. This unique role blends business development, media sales, and marketing with P&L responsibility for our IRL Video business. You will be accountable for selling video production and media services to brands and their side events at top crypto conferences. You will collaborate closely with The Defiant's in-house video team and journalists to execute high-quality content strategies that meet client objectives and resonate with our audience. You will also represent The Defiant at major conferences, promoting our brand and products to the crypto community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development:
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for IRL video production and media services.
  • Build and manage relationships with clients, agencies, and partners.
  • Negotiate and close commercial media partnerships for IRL events.
  • Achieve revenue targets and manage the P&L for the IRL Video business.
  • Content Strategy and Execution:
  • Work closely with the video team and oversee the execution of video production and media projects.
  • Ensure that content scope is aligned with client objectives and The Defiant's brand values, and support assurance of quality content.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
  • Marketing and Brand Promotion:
  • Represent The Defiant at major crypto conferences and events.
  • Promote The Defiant's brand, products, and services to crypto audiences.
  • Support the development and execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to build new revenue-generating services.

Qualifications

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in media sales and/or business development, and/or marketing.
  • Proven track record of success in driving revenue growth and building client relationships.
  • Experience in the crypto or blockchain industry is a plus.
  • Event Management and sales is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for the crypto industry.
  • Education:
  • Post-secondary degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
