The Audio & Media Technology team powers the streaming media experiences on all of Apple’s platforms (iPhones/iPads, Apple TV, Apple Watch and macOS) by building on core technologies and frameworks such as Core Media and AVFoundation. You will partner with Big Data Engineers, Software Engineers and other Data Scientist to use data to drive performance, bring new features and overall help develop the best Audio / Video experience for our users.

Description As a Data Scientist you will evaluate and help improve Streaming Media frameworks like HLS and work to improve user-experience across your favorite streaming applications like AppleTV+, Apple Music, Netflix and more. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and cross-functional product leaders to bring analytics rigor, statistical methods and apply Machine Learning techniques to ensure great product quality and amazing user experience.

Experience articulating and translating questions and using statistical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data. Data-querying skills (SQL and/or Spark, etc.) Experience with a scripting language for data processing and development (e.g., Python, R, or Scala) Expertise with statistical data analysis, multivariate analysis AB testing & sampling methods Experienced in designing, building and integrating machine learning models to products to enhance or create new user-experiences

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $121,900 and $214,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
