About the role
As a graphic designer at the Illinois Farm Bureau, you play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's mission to promote agriculture and improve the economic well-being of agriculture while enriching the quality of farm family life. Through your creative expertise, you transform complex agricultural concepts into visually engaging materials that resonate with both the farming community and the general public. Our designers are instrumental in crafting compelling visual narratives, from stunning infographics that educate about modern farming practices to eye-catching marketing campaigns that celebrate the heart of America's agricultural industry. In doing so, we bridge the gap between the farming world and the broader public, fostering understanding, appreciation, and support for Illinois agriculture.
How does this role make an impact?
- Creates graphics that tell stories and enhance news content and various marketing materials. Creates various design deliverables according to specifications and brand/identity standards.
- Handles complex graphic design projects, photo manipulation, pre-press print production and electronic media work as requested.
- Effectively communicates and presents design concepts, prototypes, layout, revisions, final design, and templates as needed.
- Collaborates with content specialists and IFB staff as needed to understand specifications and organize projects to ensure specifications, deadlines and budget are met.
- Assists with marketing efforts and executes creative ideas for campaigns across various media (e.g., broadcast, print, social media).
- Exercises professional leadership by keeping abreast of current trends, developments, technology and opportunities within field of responsibility.
- Specific projects vary by position and may include consultation services; use of the wide format printer to print, produce and assemble creative projects; coordination of classified advertising and/or additional support to assigned department(s).

Base Pay Range:
$50,000-$68,750
The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.
Incentive Pay:
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.

Do you have what we're looking for?
- Proficiency in design software, including Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat, with a strong working knowledge.
- Showcase your creativity and originality through an online portfolio or a PDF portfolio.
- Demonstrated expertise in conceptualization and design, highlighting your strong creative abilities.
- Proven capability to efficiently handle multiple projects while consistently meeting deadlines.
- Possess valuable, relevant design work experience to bring to the table.
- Extensive computer work.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
